Urodziny babci – practising the past tense (A1)

An exercise for students who would like to practice the past tense. Do you remember how to conjugate Polish verbs in the past?

CZAS PRZESZŁY (PAST TENSE)

robić

(ja) robiłem, robiłam

(ty) robiłeś robiłaś

(on) robił, (ona) robiła, (ono) robiło

(my) robiliśmy, robiłyśmy

(wy) robiliście, robiłyście

(oni) robili, (one) robiły

Verbs with infinitives in -eć (mieć, chcieć, rozumieć, wiedzieć, widzieć etc.) show the alternation of -e and -a. The vowels -e appears only in the male plural forms and the infinitive, the rest of the forms get -a in the stem np. miałem, miałam, miałyście, miały ale mieliśmy, mieliście, mieli

Remember that the verbs iść, jeść and móc are irregular.

If the exercise doesn’t work you may find it here.
